Word Royal (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a daily word game operated by Erawest Enterprises. This policy covers the site at wordroyal.com, including the game at wordroyal.com/play. By using either, you agree to the practices described here.
You can play without an account. If you do, we create a temporary guest profile so your progress holds together during your visit; it carries no email address and no name you gave us.
When you sign in, we collect your email address and a display name. The display name comes from your sign-in to begin with and you can change it at any time. If you choose to add a profile photo, we store the image you upload; you are never required to add one.
To run the game and its features, we store your results and progress: which games you completed or missed each day, your solve times, crowns earned, current streak, and the dates you played. This data powers the leaderboard, streaks, and daily one-play limit.
Word Royal has public leaderboards. If you are signed in, your display name, your profile photo if you have added one, your crown count and your completion times are visible to other players. Your email address is never shown. Guests do not appear on the leaderboards at all. If you would rather not appear, change your display name or ask us to remove your account.
Like most websites, our hosting providers automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and access times to deliver and secure the service.
We measure how the site and the game are used so we can make them better: pages viewed, games started and finished, results shared, and whether visitors sign in or come back another day. These events are tied to your Word Royal account — including a guest one — rather than to your name, and we use them in aggregate. We do not sell this data.
We advertise Word Royal on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Our pages carry the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta that a browser visited a page or reached a milestone in the game — for example starting a game, completing a day, sharing a result, or creating an account — so we can measure which ads bring people who actually play, and show ads to people like them. Meta sets its own cookies for this and may combine what it receives with the account you hold with them. We do not send Meta your email address, your display name or your Word Royal user id. You can limit this through your Meta ad preferences, your browser’s tracking protection, or an ad blocker; the game works the same either way.
We store a few small values in your browser — for example, that you have already seen a given day’s results screen, and whether you prefer sound on or off. These stay on your device.
We do not sell your personal information.
We use a small number of service providers to run Word Royal, and share information with them only as far as each one needs it to do its job. They fall into these categories:
These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or our users, or in connection with a business transfer.
You can change your display name, replace or remove your profile photo, and sign out at any time from your profile.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of the EEA and UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) have these rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, email legal@wordroyal.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.
We keep your account and gameplay data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information except where we must retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Word Royal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We operate from the United States, and your information may be processed and stored in the U.S. or other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be highlighted in the app or site.
